Welcome! I’m Kathy, a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) and the owner of A.J.S. Yoga & Wellness. Along with my 200-hour certification, I’ve completed more than 90 hours of training in Yoga for All, Subtle Yoga and Accessible Yoga.
I’ve had the joy of speaking with collegiate nursing students about yoga and mindfulness, and I’ve also been honored to share yoga with Head Start families.
I absolutely LOVE sharing the gift of yoga with people who are looking for ways to nourish both body and mind—regardless of age, size, experience, or ability. As you can probably tell, making yoga accessible and bringing it to special populations is something I’m really passionate about.
The truth is, there are so many ways to experience the benefits of yoga, and I’d love the opportunity to share some of them with you!

A.J.S. Yoga & Wellness is located in the carriage house behind 49 West Cherry Street in Sunbury, just one block west of the Sunbury Square on Evening Street.
The studio doesn’t have its own street address, so use 49 West Cherry Street for GPS navigation. Once you arrive, look for the butterfly 🦋 — you’ve found us!

At A.J.S. Yoga & Wellness, we believe a consistent yoga practice benefits all people regardless of age, size or physical ability.
With a strong focus on foundational postures, we encourage our students to explore movement which nourishes their mind and body.
By keeping class sizes small, we provide a personalized practice offered with variations to ensure the success of each student.
Where can I park?
There is limited parking available at the studio. Since we’re located in the carriage house behind 49 West Cherry Street, the studio can be a little tricky to spot the first time. Look for the butterfly 🦋!
Park in the gravel driveway between the studio and the house or on Evening Street. There are also free parking lots at the corner of Granville and Columbus and Cherry and Columbus. Both are just a block from the studio.
Please DO NOT park in the driveway in front of the garage. That is reserved for the residents of the house.
Do I have to be a certain age or fitness level?
Nope. There’s no fitness test at the door! Classes can be adapted for different ages, bodies, abilities, and experience levels.
What if I’m nervous about coming for the first time?
That’s completely normal. ❤️ You don’t need to know anything before you walk through the door. Come as you are, and we’ll take it from there.
How big are your classes?
Small! Classes are limited to 6 students, which means we have room to move and adapt the practice to the people who are actually in the room. It's also a lot less intimidating than a classes with a lot more people and helps foster our sense of community!
What if I have an injury, limitation, or just don’t feel comfortable doing certain poses?
Please let me know! There is no expectation that you do every pose exactly as demonstrated. We can use props, modifications, or completely different options to help you find something that feels appropriate for your body.
Do I need to bring a yoga mat or props?
No! Mats and props are provided for you to use during class. Of course, if you have a favorite mat or prop you love, you’re welcome to bring it.
What should I wear to class?
Whatever you’re comfortable moving in! You don’t need fancy yoga clothes. Comfortable clothing that allows you to move is perfect.
Do I need to have yoga experience?
Not at all! Beginners are always welcome. You don’t need to know the poses, touch your toes, or have any idea what “downward dog” means. We’ll guide you through it.
Do I have to be flexible to do yoga?
Nope! You do not have to be flexible to do yoga. In fact, that’s kind of the point. Yoga meets you where you are, and we use props and variations to make poses work for your body—not the other way around.
Do you offer hot or power yoga?
Nope—and that’s intentional! At A.J.S. we focus on slower, foundational and functional yoga. You won’t find hot yoga or high-intensity power classes here. We’re more interested in moving with intention, listening to your body, and leaving class feeling better than when you arrived
